Description
New EP from this melodic punk band out of Philly.
Our take: Hungover is the latest 2-song flexi from this Philadelphia band whose praises Ive been singing in the Sorry State newsletter for many years. Longtime readers will know Im a sucker for bands who combine hardcore energy and grit with melodic vocal and instrumental hooks, and Trash Knife has the proportions of this delicate recipe down pat. The trick is to keep things from getting too slick and pop-punky, but this isnt a problem for Trash Knifes vocalist Lauren, whose gravelly, raspy voice and nihilistic lyrics keep Trash Knife lodged firmly in the gutter, just where I like it. The chorus hook to DTFdown to fuck fuck shit upsays it all Trash Knife is as clever as they are confrontational, and Im stoked to have another earful on this flexi.
