Description
The debut EP from Bakersfields So Real is a five-track burst of emotive, indie rock that feels like it was pulled straight from a well-worn time capsule. It channels the late-90s moment when bands like Broken Hearts Are Blue and The Get Up Kids shook everything upwhen vulnerability met driving rhythms and changed the sound of underground rock for good. Call it Midwest Emo, call it heart-on-sleeve indieeither way, So Real carry that spirit proudly out of Bakersfield (and honestly, is that really a surprise?).
These songs balance catharsis and movement: shimmering guitars, earnest vocals, and rhythms that make you want to sway, shout along, or finally step forward and ask that person to danceeven if youre terrified to. Its music for anyone whos ever felt stuck between going out and staying home, between wanting connection and retreating into their room.
FFO: feeling everything a little too deeply, standing in the back at a show wishing you were braver, and rock and/or roll in its most sincere form.
