Description
Shitkicker brings you our first release, the U.S. pressing of REPEAT OFFENDER’s latest EP “Summary Execution”. Six tracks of pure stompers. Only 500 copies were pressed.
Our take: We carried this LA bands demo-on-vinyl release (on Spains excellent Mendeku Diskak label) a few months back; now its time for their proper debut EP. Repeat Offender sticks to a similar style as that demo recording, applying a dollop of oi! groove to their hard-charging traditional US hardcore sound. Theres a lot of influence from your Negative Approaches and your Negative FXs, but the distorted nightmare vocals give Summary Execution an element of eeriness that helps them stand out from the numerous bands who play in this style. Theres also the top-notch production (heavy but not slick) and killer riffs and songwriting. Check out the way the closing track, Foul Play, builds to a pit-clearing stomp, then drops out for a second before the second verse, a perfect setup for the knockout blow. Repeat Offenders top-notch songwriting and execution make this EP a no-brainer for USHC purists, but there are more than enough new and interesting wrinkles to interest those of us who prefer some variety in our aural bludgeoning.
