After experimenting with nu-metal flavors on 2018s Am I a Girl?, Poppy fully embraced the heavy with 2020 follow-up I Disagree. Thats not to say that her third album is pure headbanging fuel opener Concrete alone a mixes grotesquely barbarous deathcore breakdowns with Beach Boys-esque baroque pop, Seventies glam guitarmonies and Nineties coffee-shop pop. The subversively genre-skewering collection also features the industrialized, Grammy-nominated BLOODMONEY single. Poppys chewy, chewy, yummy, yummy, yummy breakthrough remains a tasty treat. Back on vinyl, and available on limited clear with red splatter vinyl.
