Description
Equal parts dreamy and bombastic, Nothings 2014 debut helped revive shoegaze while introducing the genre to a new generation. Founded by former hardcore kid Domenic Nicky Palmero after a prison stint for attempted murder, Nothing took the effects-laden guitars, hushed vocals and glacial tempos of U.K. progenitors My Bloody Valentine into even more melancholy (and less abrasive) territory by infusing elements of slowcore and dream pop. Lush and atmospheric, Guilty of Everything is widely regarded as a modern treasure. J. Bennett
