Description
In the wake of the Louisville-via-Chicago late-millennium, post-rock explosion, MercuryProgram arrived at an amorphous “scene” intransition, vibraphone in hand. From The Va-pors of Gasoline-their 2000 album for TigerStyle-was hardly a sophomore slump, it’s tencerebral and dissonant jams coyly answering thenever-asked query: What if new age and post-hardcore bought a house in the suburbs? This25th anniversary remaster reveals the genius ofan overlooked triumph in startlingly vibrant de-tail, providing atmospheric color for erstwhilereptile and periodic table fans alike.
