Krigshoder: Krig I Hodet cassette

Description

Damn, this record is another thing. Ive been jamming it like crazy for the past days and all I have to say about it is that this is so fucking sick. 8 minutes of tight, frantic and completely deranged old school hardcore punk. Thats right, just how it always should be. Krigshoder seems to be an international band, with members in Los Angeles and a singer in Norway. Influences are diverse, you can hear classic italian hardcore punk but also a lot of the norwegian school (theres even a cover of Siste Dagers Helvete). The thing is that they sound really brand new and fresh despite the fact its nothing new. Its a EP that you thoroughly enjoy cause its fun, fast as a bullet and it has a loose but precise style. Run and jump around, punch your father in the throat, skate over your neighbors, burn down the high school and steal your mothers car. I dont know, but this record is how youth, speed and punk always taste to me. Please listen to this, go out and start burning things.

Our take: Krigshoder is a new band featuring Daniel from the Norwegian band Negativ on vocals (he also operates the label Byllepest Distro, which is worth keeping a close eye on) backed up by musicians from the Suck Blood label camp, on whom weve heaped tons of praise in recent memory. The internet went into a tizzy when this first hit Bandcamp, and while it took us a while to get the physical copies in (Jeff even chose it as his staff pick way back in August), its power has not abated with a few months passage. This is some of the most tightly wound hardcore punk Ive heard in a while. Theres no point during this demo where Krigshoder settles into a groove; theyre constantly lunging forward then taking a fraction of a second to recoil before snapping right back at you. Its intricate, powerful, ripping fast, and sounds unhinged while remaining memorably musical. I dont know what else to say about this one its some of the best hardcore Ive heard in a while. Its on the internet, so give it a listen and rage tf out.
