Knocked Loose had yet to conquer Coachella crowds or garner a Grammy nod when they unleashed A Different Shade of Blue, but the Kentucky-bred quintet cratered a massive impression into the metalcore scene with their sophomore full-length. Whether leaning into slow-grooved sludging, skull-piercing guitar assaults or hardcore-imbued heaviness, the band made it clear they were a game-changing force to be reckoned with. To paraphrase uniquely pitchy lead barker Bryan Garris and Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckleys mid-album duet, the world would not forget Knocked Looses name.
