Eight years after Eonian, Dimmu Borgir return with Grand Serpent Rising, a thirteen-track album that blends brutality with striking diversity and symbolic themes of renewal, growth, and transformation. Inspired by the serpent as a metaphor for shedding skin and rebirth, the record channels both the bands legacy and a renewed creative force. From the ominous opening of Tridentium through nearly an hour of relentless music, the album delivers a powerful, cohesive statement that fuses early Norwegian black metal ferocity with decades of refined composition.
