Description
Dead Ends were arguably the best and most influential 80s punk band from the Philippines. Their albums were only released on cassette, and remain impossible to source. This is an official reissue of their debut album from 1985. Musically this has the feel of American punk rock circa 1979-1981 when hardcore wasnt the flavor of the day. Bands still had a foot in uncharted waters figuring it out. I guess it took longer for punk to migrate to the Philippines, as thats exactly whats happening on this album 5 years too late. A band inspired by the earliest punk and 70s rock, but figuring out how to take it a step further with their own unique local influences, and its absolutely awesome. Some of the Dangerhouse catalog with a bit of an edge, or early Dead Kennedys wouldnt be a too out there comparison, but Dead Ends does their own style. Highly Recommended. Lim 500 copies.
