Description
After taking their name from a Melvins song, Japanese experimentalists Boris emulated the no-fucks-given attitude of their heroes by writing one crushing, feedback-ridden, hour-long drone and packaging it as their full-length debut. Released in 1996,Absolutego is the missing link between Earths power-drone pillar Earth 2: Low Frequency Version and Sleeps legendary weed epic Dopesmoker not to mention the first deafening shot of weirdness from a band that would go on to specialize in all kinds of deafening weirdness.
