Description
Highwallow & Supermoon Songs is Saintseneca’s triumphant return-and their most expansive album to date. A 21-track double LP brimming with emotional depth and sonic adventure, this marks the band’s first release with Lame-O Records and a defining chapter in their evolution. Bandleader Zac Little, long praised for his poetic lyricism and inventive arrangements, emerged from a period of creative burnout with renewed purpose. Inspired by a rediscovered joy in visual art and color, the songs on Highwallow… feel more found than written-organic, dreamlike, and alive. The record is thematically built around a surreal two-moon landscape, with tracks grouped into three celestial “worlds”: the grounded Landscape (tracks 1-10), the lush Viridian Moon, and the warm-toned Cinnamon Moon (5 songs exclusive to physical release & bandcamp purchases!) Recorded at Little’s home studio and produced with Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley), the album bridges folk, shoegaze, and experimental pop. Highlights include the breezy earworm Sweet Nothing, the genre-melting epic Bitter Sweet, and the hauntingly beautiful Battery Lifer. Saintseneca’s signature string-driven folk roots are joined by synths, samples, and field recordings-creating what Little calls “Unamericana.” After acclaimed releases on ANTI- (Dark Arc, Pillar of Na), Saintseneca returns with their most fully realized vision yet. The LP features a gatefold jacket with artwork by Zac Little himself, inspired by his own healing art practice. This is a major moment for the band and a collector’s dream-rich in mythology, sound, and story.
