Description
As we head towards brighter days, this is exactly the kind of music we all need; joyous, uplifting and triumphant. Carmy delivers a beautiful vocal with more than a hint of gospel influence. Augmented by shimmering guitars and emphatic brass, Rebel is sure to put a spring in your step.
Carmy Love wrote Rebel several years ago but the lyrics feel unnervingly prescient, taking on an entirely different meaning in 2021. Having performed the song regularly with New Street Adventure, fans of the band will welcome the chance to hear this former live favourite in all its studio glory.
The flip side is influenced by the Crossover Soul period of the late 60s and early 70s, Thinkin About You clicks into gear from the off, with bold brass and a funky bassline paving the way for Carmys stunning vocal.
Whether moving on from a romantic relationship, friendship or maybe even a bad year, Thinkin About You highlights the importance of maintaining a positive mindset when looking to the future.
Carmy oozes attitude throughout her performance, moving effortlessly from regret in the verse to defiance in the chorus: I aint gonna waste my time thinkin about you.
