Propelled by the enigmatic vocal presence of frontwoman Amy Lee, there truly wasnt anything else out there in the early Aughts like Evanescences debut LP. Theres grace, power and beauty to the nu-metal landmark, which still staggers through its mix of heavy-grooved melancholy, aching piano ballads and vulnerable lyricism. Launched by legacy-cementing debut single Bring Me to Life, Fallen has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide, netted multiple Grammy nominations and secured Evanescences place in the metal pantheon forevermore. A striking first step, ready to spun on classic black wax.
